The “Immersive Production” course for Immersive Experience Creator 23 was a chance for this year’s students to finally create something practical after gaining the foundational XR theory and industry knowledge.
This course used to be conducted online with Immersive Insiders. However, this time around, with Futuregames alumnus Jad Tawbi at Immersive Insiders, the students had the benefit of an on-site course.
Virtual reality development
In the first two weeks, students had lectures at school combined with online curriculum from Immersive Insiders. This not only assisted them in learning Unity game engine development but also provided insights into VR development using the Meta SDK. Additionally, the students acquired skills in using GitHub for version control. In the subsequent two weeks, they collaborated in teams to create a VR game based on the theme “Try & Try Again.” The final output was showcased on the Immersive Insiders Talents Website as a portfolio piece.
Immersive Experience Creator’s portfolio pieces
By the end of the course, the students had acquired skills in Unity, VR development, teamwork, GitHub, and packaging. They also had impressive portfolio pieces to showcase on social media!
