Futuregames teacher Sjoerd De Jong announces new game project
While this might not be news about Futuregames itself, it certainly is closely related. Futuregames game design teacher Sjoerd De Jong (better known to some as Hourences) and his game studio Teotle Studios, have quite recently announced a new, next gen game for PC: Solus.
Solus is a single player survival and exploration game, set on a mysterious planet. While the planet seems uninhabited, the harsh climate with extreme tempratures, catastrophic weather phenomenons and meteors will make uncovering the strange planets secrets a challenge.
The game is developed in Unreal Engine 4, and is currently featured in the Unreal Engines showcase, along with an very interesting interview with Sjoerd De Jong about his work on Solus and his prominent prescence in the Unreal Engine community.
Teotle Studios has previously sold over 350 000 copies of its previous games, The Ball and Unmechanical. The Ball won the PC Gamer USA Action / Adventure Game of the Year award and Unmechanical was awarded Best Artistic Achievement at the Nordic Game Conference.
We look forward to seeing Solus released and are proud to have talent and experience such as Sjoerd De Jong amongst our ranks, sharing his knowledge with our students.
