Last week, the eleventh annual Nordic Game Conference was held in Malmö, Sweden. While members of Futuregames were there, we’d like to take a moment to talk about Diversi!
Futuregames is part of Diversi, a project originally created by the Swedish games Industry, working towards increased diversity within games. This year, Diversi teamed up with the NGC, to continue their excellent work through positive reinforcement and representation. For further reading about Diversi, we recommend a visit to their website: diversi.nu
At the event, Diversi held a diversity focused mixer and a very interesting panel on how to make the world a better place through diversity, with participants representing a mix of AAA, indie, mobile and education sectors.
In an effort to fortify the prescence of women in the games industry, Diversi received the opportunity to send female students from nordic games educations to Nordic Game Conference 2015. Vendela Carlberg-Larsson, Game Design student from Futuregames2013, was one of the students that Diversi was able to send to the conference.
The purpose of this was to increase representation of women at industry events, as well as provide the student with possibilities to grow their network and ease the transition from being a student to being a game industry proffesional.
Diversi’s events at The Nordic Game Conference were sponsored by Intel. Thank you for helping us make the game industry a better place for everyone!
