Tips before starting the course

A great game portfolio, gaming resume, or work sample isn’t built in a day. Before the start of the preparatory course, it’s a good idea to have an idea of what you want to do for your work sample. It can be a new idea, or improving on something you have worked on previously.

Be realistic! Create a plan for yourself and break down the task you need to finish with clear deadlines. Prioritize the different tasks, what are the things you must have and what are the nice-to-haves. That way you can scale down if you realise you are running out of time.

Avoid copying without investigating and reflecting to make your work your own.

Make your work relevant for the education you are interested in applying to. If you are interested in applying for more than one educations, work smart and see if you can create a work sample suitable for all the educations.
