Game & UX Designer

About the education

The demand is high for UX design

Do you play a game and often think of how you can tweak its UI to a more player-centric UI? UX design is where the science of the player meets the art of game design. Seemingly small choices made by every one of the game/product development team impacts how the game experience manifests in players. Learn to be the voice of the player as a user experience designer, and create the game you will want to play.

UX designer – Be the “voice of the player”

Game and UX Designer – multidisciplinary competence within game development, experience-based design, game design, UX, VR/AR, gamification, business development, and leadership. Welcome to an exciting career as a UX designer where you will be involved in influencing the future.

User experience, game development, sustainable business models and digital innovation is at the heart of the development. Today we have tremendous opportunities to create experiences with new technology, not least through VR / AR and AI. The companies work with continuous improvement of customer experiences and in addition, digital experiences and conversational UX are becoming increasingly important.

All interviewed companies are open to accepting LIA students (internship) and are hiring directly from Futuregames.

The shortage is not just limited to the game and IT industries. Companies such as Boliden, and infrastructure companies such as Skellefteå Kraft, consultancy firms, app developers and agencies demanding more competence within creative product management, interaction design, software testers and programmers / developers.

Arctic Game Lab is one of northern Europe’s fastest growing game cluster, located in campus Skellefteå, which connects companies to students, and creates environments where the community can learn from each other

LIA (internship) as part of the education

One of the most important aspects of your education is your internship (LIA).  The internship serves to deepen and broaden your learning and help you gain the work experience you need. This is an opportunity to build your network within the industry during your studies.

We maintain a good relationship with the network of companies within the games and e-commerce industries for projects, industry events, guest lecturers, and recruitment.

Some of our cooperative partners include Turborilla, Goodbye Kansas Studios, Gold Town Games, Mindforce Game Lab, North Kingdom, Zordix, Aurora Punks, Coldwood, Epic, Tarvalley, Paradox, Wanderword, EA DICE, Landell Games, Triolith Games AB, and the list goes on.
