Mobile Game Developer, Developer of Mobile Platforms

There is a real need in the industry for more skilled programmers within the mobile game space!

We are now open for late applications for our program starting in the fall of 2021. ONLINE and ONSITE in Skellefteå.

You get to learn C ++, Java, Android, C #, JavaScript, Objective-C, Swift, but above all in combination with the game engine Unity.

Interactive entertainment and game development are important sectors for contemporary culture, economic growth and employment, whether locally, nationally or globally.

Our education responds to the growing and innovative gaming sector by developing skilled, team-oriented, reflective programmers who are ready to succeed in the sector. In the course you will learn the most important programming languages ​​for game development, as well as industry standard tools for game development such as Unity and Unreal.

Game Programmer Mobile Platforms gives you a solid competence base in Game Programming, Tools Programming, Game Engine Programming, Game System Design. You learn the game programmer’s craftsmanship and art with the client as a guiding star.

As part of the education, you do LIA (Learning at work) and make up 25% of the education. The LIA deepens your learning and you gain valuable work experience. We work with a number of companies, for example; Coldwood Interactive, Grand Pike, Dice, Zordix, GoldTown Games, Paradox Arctic, Turborilla, Avalanche Studios, EA, LevelEight, North Kingdom m.fl.

Term times

Most terms have different lengths and it is important that you report the right time period and the right amount of HVE-credits (Yh-points) to CSN. Each study week corresponds to five (5) HVE-credits, ie one (1) HVE-credit per day. This is provided that you continuously pass your courses with approved results.

How to apply

APPLICATION

Applications are normally open between the period February-May, but can be extended if there are still seats available. Click on the “Apply now” button on the webpage for you education of choice to be transferred to our admissions system.

This is where you fill in all information needed for your application to be completed:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Documentation special prerequisites
  • CV and personal letter
  • Work sample
  • Possible certificates and other grading documents

Please note that your CV, personal letter and work sample(s) all need to be written in English.

 

SELECTION

If we receive more applications than we have seats (this education currently has 30 seats), we will judge applicants by the score on their special tests The applicants with the highest score, regardless of location, will be offered a seat to the program and other eligible applicants will become reserves. You can see information about our special test below.

 

ADMISSION

You will normally receive an admission notice via our admission system by early July. You will then need to respond yes or no within seven days to keep your seat or reserve status. If the school does not receive your answer within 7 days, we will automatically move on to the next reserve.

 

REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • Grades or proof of post graduate qualifications from upper secondary school/high school or equivalent
  • CV and a personal letter (letting us know why you have chosen the specific program)
  • English 6 from upper secondary school/high school or proof of equivalent knowledge
  • Mathematics 2 from upper secondary school/high school or proof of equivalent knowledge
  • Programmering 1 from upper secondary school/high school or proof of equivalent knowledge
  • Work Sample in English (see more information below)

CSN

This course is eligible with CSN. Apply on their website at www.csn.se.

As soon as you’ve got your letter of application from us you can apply with CSN. If you need extra papers from the school, please contact your course manager. The school reports to CSN regularly to make sure all the students are continuing their studies, as part of the agreement between CSN and each student.

Educational board

Each educational program has a Board of Education that ensures the quality of the education, and that makes decisions about admission and examination. The board meets twice per semester. One or more students from the class are also selected to be part of the board as representatives for the class.

The board can consist of representatives from the industry, the business community, the school management, the public school system, universities / colleges, industry organizations and students. One of the board’s main tasks is to ensure that the educational program meet the labour market’s needs for qualified workforce.
