Futuregames students showcasing their games at Tekniska museet
“It’s been incredibly exciting! Seeing children laugh and have fun with something you’ve created is so humbling.”
Cecilia Wretemark-Hauck, Game Designer
Our first year students from Stockholm and Karlstad showcased their first game project to classes from Metapontum School in Fruängen and Järla School. We were thrilled to use Xbox Game Studios Publishing’s adaptive controllers again – enabling even more kids to play!
Games from 140 Futuregames students
140 Futuregames designers, programmers, animators, game and VFX artists students assignment is to to design a PC game for 10-12 years old young players with FOREST as theme and accessibility as main focus.
– It has truly been a great day, says Game Artist student Lisa Törnwall. The children are asking such good questions about the games. And when you ask them questions, you immediately get answers like, ‘this and that would be great.’ They explain it very simply, very well, so you understand right away.
“The kids have a great ability to analyze”
– It’s been incredibly exciting! Seeing children laugh and have fun with something you’ve created is so humbling, says Game Designer student Cecilia Wretemark-Hauck. The most rewarding part has been watching children of different abilities and levels of gaming knowledge all enjoy themselves in their own ways. Some are just thrilled to explore this visual world, while others are like, ‘I want my high score!’ We even have kids coming back asking, ‘Has the high score changed? Then I have to play again!’.
– The feedback is very honest, and the kids have a great ability to analyze. We’ve received feedback that’s made us realize certain aspects of the game didn’t serve their purpose. So we have to rethink things, and we already have new ideas on how to solve them. This has been very beneficial for us. We’ve already made our to-do list!
Thanks to Tekniska!
Special thanks to Linda Sandberg, Program Manager at Tekniska museet for making this happen!
