AI and Experience Design
User Experience (UX) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are hot topics in technology and design today. The increasing integration of AI in our digital lives has created numerous opportunities and challenges for UX designers. But how will UX be impacted by AI? We asked this question to Dominique Lecapre, Head of Education for our Experience Designer program.
How is the UX Process Affected?

“AI offers a range of exciting possibilities to enhance and streamline the UX design process.”

Creating Relevant Questions for User Interviews
With AI, designers can leverage machine learning to analyze previous interviews and user data. This analysis can then be used to generate relevant and insightful questions for upcoming user interviews. Rather than relying solely on human intuition, designers can use AI to ensure they ask the most relevant questions based on previously collected data.
Summarizing Data After User Interviews
After conducting user interviews, it can be challenging to summarize and interpret all the gathered information. AI can assist with this by quickly analyzing interview data, identifying patterns, and presenting insights in an easily understandable way. This can significantly reduce the time it takes to process and analyze interview results.
Generating Design Suggestions
With the help of AI, designers can receive suggestions for design solutions based on user data and prior design decisions. For instance, AI can analyze user behaviors on a website and recommend design changes to improve the user experience. Additionally, AI tools can provide real-time feedback during the design process, helping designers make informed decisions
AI as a Powerful Tool in the Design Process
In summary, AI offers a range of exciting possibilities to enhance and streamline the UX design process. By integrating AI into the design workflow, designers can benefit from deeper insights, faster analysis, and more informed design decisions. While the human touch will always remain central to UX, AI can serve as a powerful tool to complement and strengthen the designer’s work.
